Chrysler’s Time To Do A Recall
by: Katie Jones
The Chrysler Group is just about set to stage their own share of recalls. According to Reuters, the company has already informed the public last Friday that they are going to call back to its arms the Jeep Liberty, Dodge Durango, and the Dodge Avenger. The numbers go up to a high of half a million units in total.
Reuters also did mention that Chrysler was recalling the Jeep Liberty and the Dodge Durango because of being the start of fires which is perhaps very much like what has happened to those Ford vehicles around a year back. The company has been able to receive reports of cases wherein the previously mentioned vehicles caught fire. The Dodge Avenger, meanwhile, would be recalled because it held door latches that were quite faulty.
Chrysler did also mention that they are going to call back around 489,000 vehicles. And this sure is going to take on a big toll for the car maker for just last February, the car manufacturer just recalled 51,000 units because they had to do a reprogram of the software that deal with the anti-lock brakes. And while this is going on, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is already doing investigations on the mentioned problems.
Of course, Chrysler has got to do something about the issue for they have been receiving complaints of owners experiencing vehicles which seemed to have suddenly caught fire. In fact, one of the cases that they have received is that the affected Jeep Liberty units had drivers who had to experience minor burns. This was because of the fire that seemed to have started with the blower motor straight right from the air conditioning system. As for the Dodge Durango fires, the Chrysler Group did mention that they did not receive any reports of injuries, serious or not, which hailed from the faults.
Chrysler should be surer and more careful when they manufacture their products and vehicles. Toyota, for example, may produce products as simple as the Toyota bumper but they do make sure that it is of top quality. That is perhaps why Toyota continues to go straight to the top and Chrysler is suffering from some financial trouble.
